Jesse Pickett is a Canadian writer, director, and visual storyteller. He studied photography at Photek, cinematography at the Calgary Society for Independent film, participated in a story workshop through the National Screen Institute, and has a bachelor’s degree in Motion Picture Arts. Jesse also studied Children’s Literature, Creative Writing, Philosophy, Visual Theory, and Art History.
He is drawn to the science-fiction, speculative fiction, and drama. Pickett choses to explore themes such as loss, trust, routine, aging, masculinity stereotypes, senior citizen abuse, familial obligations, and gun violence.
Pickett is currently beginning post-production on a dramatic short called “Dogs” and prepping to film his first feature film “Blue Hour”. He is also in the process of developing Children’s Literature, Comic Books, documentary content, and short stories.
